When we make decisions about how to furnish our own home, we always live our own mission to avoid trends and buy timeless pieces that will last. We always consider the durability of products, so we can be sure we’ll have them for decades and pass on to future generations.

Whether we're curating products for our own home, or our website, we choose modern designs from the twentieth century for our core collections, taking into account our own personal taste as well as what we know our customers want.

Artek stool

An iconic design that has stood the test of time since its introduction in 1933. It is a great example of Alvar Aalto's love of birch and shows his ability to create smooth curved wooden surfaces. Its its so flexible in the home, it can have many uses for example as a side table or a stool at a table  We have several in our house, one in our bathroom and one in our living/dining space that we use as an extra seat at the dining table when needed or for when lots of people visit and an extra perch is needed. Eames lounge chair

Probably the most iconic and recognisable lounge chair in the world. Designed in 1956, the Vitra Eames Lounge chair is beautifully constructed using the highest quality of materials available. The Eames lounge chair and ottoman have become a benchmark in twentieth century design. Available with rosewood (Santos Palisander), American Cherry or walnut pigmented black frame with choice of colours or leather upholstery. This is the original size as designed back in the 1950's. USM storage

USM Haller modular furniture originated in 1963 and has become a classic in terms of design and functionality. Perfect for the home or office, USM Haller furniture remains flexible in its design offering infinite configurations with the added option of doors, drawers, filing systems, wheels and a multitude of internal fittings. We have a black unit in our home, which we can add to at a later time if we wanted to. Its a classic design that can adapt with you and your house.

 

Flos parentesi floor light

Designed by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù, the Parentesi Floor Lamp is named after the parenthesis symbol and won the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 1979. Parentesi is a unique light that moves vertically via a sliding steel tube on a ceiling-to-floor steel cable. To celebrate its 50th year, the Parentesi suspension light is re-imagined in new colours, signal orange and turquoise, only available for 12 months.  We have 2 of the original colour lights in our home, one in our dining space and one in the bedroom as a bed side light, they look great and bring a warm ambient light to the space. Lamino chair and ottoman

The Lamino Armchair & Footstool was designed by Swedese founder Yngve Ektrom in 1956. Widely regarded as the most comfortable easy chair every to come out of Scandinavia, the Lamino was also recently voted as the most popular chair in Sweden of the 20th century. Lamino is a prime example of a timeless design classic. Using natural materials and masterful craftsmanship have resulted in a piece of furniture as attractive today as it will be for future generations. This chair is on our wishlist too for our house! Ercol loveseat

A romantic twist on the classic Windsor chair, the Loveseat by Lucian Ercolani offers a distinct and timeless allure that is conducive to a wide array of modern or more traditional environments.
