A design that has truly stood the test of time, the Case 675 chair is one of the most recognised of the Twentieth Century and in 2015 was awarded the prestigious Design Guild Mark Award. Originally created in 1952, the chair’s most prominent feature is its curved veneered plywood back. In 2014, Case worked alongside the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation, to source an original version of the 1950s chair. Case then worked alongside the Foundation to develop an authentic new model which faithfully replicates its dimensions and proportions.

Case Furniture was established in London in 2006 by Paul Newman, a furniture designer who made products for Heals and Liberty of London. In the late 1980s Paul Newman exhibited at Milan Furniture fair (Salon di Mobile) where he met Australian retailer Aero who produced his range. In partnership they launched a UK franchise of Aero in Westbourne Grove and later on Chelsea’s Kings Road.
Aero was sold in 1999 and it was from here that Paul set up Case Furniture with a clear vision: to create quality, authored products that are accessible to the mass market using modern manufacturing techniques.

robin day forum sofa
The Forum designed by Robin Day is an icon of mid-century design.
Originally designed in 1964 by Robin Day, the sofa and armchair feature a hardwood frame beautifully crafted with a finger joint detail, supported by chrome plated legs mounted to the outside of the frame. When Day designed Forum he purposefully exposed the elements to showcase the beauty of its form to show that the visible construction is integral to the design. Case has worked in close partnership with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation to bring this iconic design back into production, nearly 60 years after it was first launched.
