Inspired by the familiar picnic table, its generous proportions, substantial timber construction and softly rounded joints create an inviting setting for shared meals, relaxed entertaining and everyday outdoor living. The straightforward design gives it an approachable character that works equally well in contemporary gardens and more traditional outdoor spaces.
Constructed from solid pinewood planks, the Weekday Table has a robust presence while retaining the natural warmth and texture of timber. Its water-based outdoor surface treatment, incorporating a primer and protective coating, helps the wood withstand outdoor conditions while allowing it to develop an individual patina over time. The visible construction details add to its honest, uncomplicated aesthetic.

Hannes & Fritz is a design collaboration between German-Swiss design duo Johannes Breuer and Fritz Gräber. They met at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland. and what started as a friendship developed into a spontaneous design collaboration with the construction of a bench at a dinner party. The result was a very successful partnership and since then they have created designs for a number of international furniture companies, often starting their projects by exploring existing archetypal forms, before defining them in a more contemporary context. For HAY their most successful design is the Weekday Collection which includes the Weekday Table and Weekday Bench.
