Inspired by the classic picnic bench, its straightforward construction, softly rounded edges and visible timber joints create an inviting piece that encourages relaxed, sociable seating. The uncomplicated design makes it a natural companion to outdoor dining tables, garden settings and informal gathering spaces.
Crafted from solid FSC™-certified pinewood, the Weekday Bench combines sturdy timber planks with a water-based, weather-resistant surface treatment. Its natural material character is designed to develop a distinctive patina over time, while a choice of finishes and colours offers flexibility when styling outdoor spaces. The bench is available in different lengths, making it suitable for everything from compact terraces to larger gardens, cafés and shared hospitality areas. For additional comfort, the design can be paired with a separately available Weekday seat cushion in selected fabrics.

Hannes & Fritz is a design collaboration between German-Swiss design duo Johannes Breuer and Fritz Gräber. They met at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland. and what started as a friendship developed into a spontaneous design collaboration with the construction of a bench at a dinner party. The result was a very successful partnership and since then they have created designs for a number of international furniture companies, often starting their projects by exploring existing archetypal forms, before defining them in a more contemporary context. For HAY their most successful design is the Weekday Collection which includes the Weekday Table and Weekday Bench.
