The Wishbone Chair otherwise known as the CH24 or 'Y' Chair was designed by Hans J.Wegner in 1949. Manufactured by Carl Hansen & Son in Denmark the Wishbone Chair is the ultimate Danish design classic.
It acquired its name due to the 'Y' shaped back and with its measured use of materials is a light, sculptural dining chair which offers good back support and a comfortable sitting position.
The beech painted frame gives it a smooth finish so no wood grain can be seen. The beautiful paper cord seat is available in either a black or natural paper cord.
Despite its simple appearance it takes more than 100 steps to make one. Alone the hand-woven seat consists of more than 120 meters of paper cord. For the coloured paint chair see CH24 Wishbone Chair - Colours.
