The CH23 was designed by Hans Wegner at the same time as his famous and iconic Wishbone chair. The CH23 is part of a set of four chairs that Wegner designed as his first collection for Carl Hansen, and was the best seller when the chairs were first released.
It has been out of production since the 1960's but relaunched again by Carl Hansen in 2017. The CH23 is an armless dining chair that has an elegant cover-cap detail where the backrest meets the frame. The seat is double woven from paper cord in a process that takes an experienced weaver a long time to complete, which makes the seat extremely durable.
