Not an instant success when it was designed in 1963 due to its unusual 3 legged appearance. But when the Shell Chair was reintroduced in 1998 it immediately won broad public appeal as well as several design awards.
The beautiful arching curves of the three legs gives it a unique look and also maximum comfort. The seat and back are made from the highest quality form-pressed hardwood laminate. The front legs are made of one piece of continuous laminated wood, the back leg from another. The seat and back can be upholstered in fabric, cow hide or leather.
