The Eames Soft Pad EA 217 Office Chair offer's pure luxury for the home office or in an executive boardroom, there is a high back version the Soft Pad EA 219 Chair. The Vitra Soft Pad EA 217 offers unparalleled comfort, it adapts to fit the body snugly even without extensive upholstery.

Materials: Sewn-on cushions with polyurethane foam upholstery in Grade L20 Leather or Grade L50 leather Premium, the rear panel is covered in Plano fabric in a complimentary colour. Side profiles and spreaders in die-cast aluminium, with a polished or chrome-plated finish or powder-coated in deep black. Adjustable backward tilt, lockable in the forward position. Continuous seat height adjustment with gas spring. Chair comes with hard castors for carpet or soft castors for hard floors. Castor covers in black for polished and black powder-coated base, with chrome-plated finish for chrome base.

Charles & Ray Eames are one of modern design's most recognisable partnerships. Born in the early part of the 20th Century Charles and Ray Eames married in 1941 and moved to Los Angeles, where together they began experimenting with techniques for the three-dimensional moulding of plywood. The aim was to create comfortable chairs that were affordable.

Playful and fun, the Eames' had a great energy that lives through their iconic products today. "Take your pleasure seriously" was a favourite saying of Charles Eames.
