The Vitra Hal Lounge Chair designed by legendary British designer Jasper Morrison has a compact footprint but offers exceptional comfort. It comes with a soft loose seat cushion and for extra comfort a neck cushion.
Creations by Jasper Morrison are not characterised by an eye-catching new or fashionable design, but instead represent the update and perfection of a familiar typology – as demonstrated with the HAL Lounge Chair, which is Morrison's reinterpretation of the upholstered four-legged armchair with a high backrest. The strength of the design becomes increasingly evident over time, when other more attention-grabbing contemporary pieces have long been forgotten. The legs are available in a Natural oak or dark-stained oak.
Material:Fibreglass-reinforced plastic shell made from post-industrial recycled ABS plastic, encased in moulded polyurethane foam. Known for thinking outside the box, Jasper Morrison is one of the most successful industrial designers of the past few decades. Together with his colleague Naoto Fukasawa, he defined the term 'super normal', which in his opinion answers the question of what 'good design' should really be.
In his work, he strives to create good examples of understated, useful and responsible design. His designs are represented in New York's Museum of Modern Art and other prominent museum collections around the world.
One of our favourites, the Glo Ball collection is a piece of classic 90s design that feels current today and his collections for Vitra include the Vitra HAL Ply Chair.
