Vitra Grand Relax Lounge Chair & Ottoman

The Vitra Grand Relax Lounge Chair designed by Antonio Citterio is a luxurious reclining lounge chair combining outstanding comfort with compact dimensions and a classic understated aesthetic. Upholstered in Vitra's premium grade leather the Grand Relax features seat and back cushions which sit loosely on the chair but snugly envelop the user and always return to their original shape when the user gets up.


  • Materials:Moulded polyurethane foam with a plastic frame and integrated synchronised mechanism with locking device. Four-star swivel base in die-cast aluminium, polished or powder-coated finish. Seat cushion chambers filled with polyurethane foam lozenges and ball fibres. Backrest and neck cushion chambers filled with polyurethane foam cubes and a mix of goose feathers and down. Front covered in Vitra Leather Premium L40 and back covered in Vitra Leather Forte (Deco)

Designed By

Antonio Citterio was born in the Italian city of Meda in 1950. He opened his own studio in 1972 and completed his degree in architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1975. He has created some modern masterpieces with companies such as Kartell, Vitra, Flos and many more. In his long career he has been awarded numerous awards, including the Compasso d'Oro in 1987 and 1995. He was named 'Royal Designer for Industry' by the London-based Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce in 2008.
