In the plans for their chairs the Eames frequently came up with a number of variations by combining a seat shell with different base frames. The Vitra LCM lounge chair combines a chromed tubular steel base with a wood or fur cover seat and backrest. The fur cover version was introduced as early as 1946 but only produced in small numbers.
