Noguchi himself described Coffee Table as his best furniture design, no doubt because it is extremely reminiscent of his bronze and marble sculptures of the time, translating the latter's biomorphic formal language unadulterated into a piece of sculptural furniture: glass tabletop resting on two identical wooden elements placed at right angles. Available in three wood base finishes
Colour: Glass Top, Black Ash, Walnut or Maple Base
Material: Varnished solid wood base, 19mm glass top with rounded edges
Isamu Noguchi was born in 1904 in Los Angeles to the Japanese poet Yone Noguchi and the American writer Leonie Gilmour. He went on to study at Columbia University and the Leonardo da Vinci Art School. His iconic paper lights by Vitra are true Design Classics.
