Jasper Morrison's APC chair (All Plastic Chair) recalls the simple form of the traditional wooden chair, but uses new materials and production techniques to offer enhanced comfort, functionality and adaptability. The chair frame is cast as a single piece of high-performance dyed-through polypropylene.
The organically-shaped seat and back rest are moulded to offer ergonomic support using a polypropylene which is less rigid than the frame to optimise support and comfort. Additional comfort is offered by the rubber buffers which cushion the junction between the frame and the backrest, allowing a gentle degree of flex in response to the sitter's movements. The use of two different types of plastic for frame and seat is articulated by having seat and backrest in a slightly lighter shade of the frame colour, bringing a distinctive two-tone effect to the chair. The All Plastic Chair is water and sunlight-resistant, making it suitable for outdoor use and presenting a highly flexible option for both contract and domestic settings.

Known for thinking outside the box, Jasper Morrison is one of the most successful industrial designers of the past few decades. Together with his colleague Naoto Fukasawa, he defined the term 'super normal', which in his opinion answers the question of what 'good design' should really be.
In his work, he strives to create good examples of understated, useful and responsible design. His designs are represented in New York's Museum of Modern Art and other prominent museum collections around the world.
One of our favourites, the Glo Ball collection is a piece of classic 90s design that feels current today and his collections for Vitra include the Vitra HAL Ply Chair.
