The VP13 Topan Table Lamp by &Tradition is a modern re-imagining of Verner Panton’s iconic 1959 pendant, the VP13 transforms the original into a sculptural table lamp that appears to float.

Material: Crafted with a lacquered or plated aluminium shade, the VP13 features a precision-cut clear acrylic base made from extruded tubing. The base edges are flame-polished for a smooth, glass-like finish that enhances the lamp’s floating effect. A colour-matched or black textile (Chrome version) cord complements the minimalist design. Thoughtfully engineered for disassembly without glue, the lamp supports easy repairs and responsible recycling at end of life, a future-focused take on sustainable design.

Verner Panton, born 1926 in Gamtofte, Denmark, studied at Odense Technical College before enrolling at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen as an architecture student. He worked from 1950-52 in the architectural firm of Arne Jacobsen, and founded an independent studio for architecture and design in 1955. One of his most famous designs is the cantilevered Panton Chair for Vitra, a revolutionary design at the time it now looks so familiar.
