SCP Balzac armchair is an iconic armchair designed by British designer Matthew Hilton. Available in two iconic leather colours.
It was included in the well-known Taschen book “1000 Chairs” and has a permanent residency at the Geffrye Museum, the Museum of the English Domestic Interior. Made in the UK. The Balzac armchair and ottoman by Matthew Hilton was launched by SCP in 1991. It was SCP’s very first upholstery design. Initially, the design was met with little fanfare, but within a few years its curvaceous looks, modernist sensibility and undoubted comfort had caught the design world’s imagination. It went on to become SCP’s signature piece and bestseller.
