Few forms convey the warm, familiar essence of home as that of the rocking chair. Since the beginning of time, designers and craftsmen have experienced a profound, intuitive connection to wood as a building material.
Lucian Ercolani echoed this affinity in 1956 with the construction of the Chairmakers Rocking Chair, a stirring ode to the historic profession of chair-making, suffused with thoughtful, crafted details. A paradigmatic example of classic Windsor craftsmanship, the Chairmakers Rocking Chair features a traditional spindle backrest with eight, finely-tuned spindles, curved to accommodate the body’s natural contours. Durable, solid wooden legs grant the chair a range of movement, allowing users to lean back and enjoy the simple pleasure of sitting in a rocking chair. Manufactured in solid ash, the Chairmakers Rocking Chair is available in many finishes, including a warm natural Dead Matt finish and the new Modern Tones series of colours by Christian Møller Andersen.
