Rather than relying on decorative details, the chair draws its appeal from the relationship between its individual components, the natural grain of the timber and the repetition of carefully developed joints.
A solid wood frame supports a curved plywood seat and backrest, finished with sliced wood veneer to create a cohesive appearance. The restrained silhouette gives the chair a distinctive presence around a dining table, while its compact proportions also make it suitable for a desk or occasional seating. Every element has a clear purpose, reflecting Muecke’s approach to furniture through material, structure and simplicity.
Available in Ebonised Ash, White Oak or Oxford Walnut, the chair can be chosen to complement your existing furniture or introduce a contrasting wood tone. This first collaboration between Jonathan Muecke and Knoll brings a fresh perspective to the traditional wooden dining chair.
Materials: Frame in solid wood finished in natural white oak, ebonised ash or Oxford walnut. The seat and backrest panel are made from curved plywood, topped with sliced veneer in a wood finish similar to the frame.
A Knoll logo nameplate is located on the underside of the seat.
