The MR Side Chair features a tubular, polished chrome frame over which sits the thick cowhide slings that provide the seat and backrest of the chair. The backrest is finished with a beautifully detailed lace up back.
MR side chair makes an ideal, luxury dining chair, meeting chair or even just an occasional chair. Tubular steel was the catalyst for the extensive experiments in cantilevered seating that resulted in Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's iconic MR Collection of 1927-29.

Along with Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier, Walter Gropius and Frank Lloyd Wright, he is regarded as one of the pioneers of Modernist Architecture & Design. His Barcelona chair is one of modern design's true classics, often imitated but never bettered.
