The legendary designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed the MR table collection between 1927-29, with it he elevated industrial materials to art. This collection includes tables of seamless tubular steel and glass in a form of pure geometry.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was a German-American architect. He was commonly referred to as Mies, his surname. Along with Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier, Walter Gropius and Frank Lloyd Wright, he is regarded as one of the pioneers of Modernist Architecture & Design. His Barcelona chair is one of modern design's true classics, often imitated but never bettered.
