Knoll Bertoia Diamond Chair

The Knoll Diamond Chair is an sublime study in space, form and function by one of the master sculptors of the last century - Harry Bertoia. Like Eero Saarinen and Mies van der Rohe, Bertoia found elegant grace in an industrial material, elevating it beyond its normal utility into a work of art.

Harry Bertoia Harry Bertoia was a complete and gifted artist. He started life as a metal worker who was ahead of his time and crossed boundaries daily. His famous designs for Knoll are truly unique and his original trade of metal worker can clearly be seen. Knoll historian Brian Lutz once said “Bertoia’s paintings were better than his sculptures. And his sculptures were better than his furniture. And his furniture was absolutely brilliant."
