Sustainability is an important part of the Arbour's design philosophy. Developed to meet the demanding requirements of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, it was the first sofa produced by a Danish company to receive this prestigious environmental certification. The frame is manufactured using FSC-certified solid oak, while the cushions incorporate Oeko-Tex certified foam and recycled filling materials, including recycled polyethylene fibre balls and shredded foam made from production offcuts.
Beyond its material credentials, the Arbour has been designed with longevity and reduced waste in mind. Its independently manufactured components can be maintained, repaired or replaced individually, removing the need to replace the entire sofa if one element requires attention. The construction also allows the different materials to be separated for recycling at the end of its useful life. Products with this label are free from harmful chemicals and have to meet certain requirements that cover usage, disposal and recycling; ensuring a long life that further limits waste over time.
