The Fritz Hansen Series 7 Dining Chair in Coloured Ash with Warm Graphite Legs brings a contemporary edge to one of the most celebrated designs in Scandinavian furniture history.
Created by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1955, the Series 7 is renowned for its elegant curves, lightweight construction and enduring versatility.
This distinctive version pairs a coloured ash veneer seat with a Warm Graphite-coated steel base. The visible wood grain introduces natural texture and warmth, while the understated graphite finish creates a sophisticated contrast without the brightness of chrome or the stronger definition of black legs. Ideal for contemporary dining rooms, design-led kitchens and professional interiors, the Series 7 combines iconic design heritage with a considered choice of materials and finishes.
The Fritz Hansen Series 7 has become one of the defining designs of modern Danish furniture. Arne Jacobsen's original concept combines sculptural form with everyday functionality, resulting in a chair that feels equally at home in residential and commercial settings. Its gently curved seat shell creates an instantly recognisable silhouette, while the slender four-legged base maintains a sense of visual lightness. More than a fashionable dining chair, the Series 7 is a lasting design classic that continues to complement changing interior styles.
The Series 7 is designed to work across a wide range of spaces. Use it as a statement piece around a dining table, bring a coordinated set into a modern kitchen, or introduce an iconic Scandinavian chair into a home office or meeting room. The Warm Graphite base makes it especially easy to coordinate with darker architectural details, while the coloured ash seat adds warmth and individuality. Pair it with natural timber for a softer, organic scheme, or contrast it with stone, glass and contemporary finishes for a more modern interior. Its stackable construction also offers practical flexibility when additional seating or efficient storage is required.
Materials: The Series 7™ is a stackable pressure moulded veneer chair with four legs in powder-coated steel. The seat is available in a variety of stained ash finishes. Ash has a wide grain and this is fully visible through the colour finish

Designed in 1955, this is an licensed Fritz Hansen original piece.
The legendary Arne Jacobsen trained as an architect in Copenhagen. His most famous buildings include Arhus Town Hall in Denmark, the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen and St Catherine's College in Oxford England. His experiments into plywood resulted in the Ant chair in 1952.
The work on the SAS Royal Hotel resulted in some of his most outstanding designs, including the Egg and Swan chairs, a stainless steel cutlery set now made by silver manufacturer Georg Jensen and a series of lamps, manufactured by &Tradition and Louis Poulsen. A perfectionist and a master of detail, Jacobsen worked right up to his death in 1971. In central London, his Royal Danish Embassy on Sloane Street was completed only in 1977. He was one of Denmark's most influential 20th-century architects & designers.
