he Fritz Hansen N02-10 Recycle Dining Chair, designed by Japanese design studio Nendo, brings thoughtful material innovation to contemporary seating.
Made from upcycled household plastic, this distinctive chair combines a sculptural shell with a practical, lightweight design for modern homes, workplaces and commercial interiors.
Its defining feature is a subtle crease running down the backrest, inspired by a folded sheet of paper on Nendo’s studio table. This simple detail gives the chair its recognisable profile while helping the backrest follow the body for a more supportive, embracing feel. The N02-10 Recycle demonstrates how discarded household plastic can be transformed into functional contemporary furniture. The plastic is collected and processed in central Europe before being reused to create the chair’s durable shell. Designed with circularity in mind, the material can be recycled again at the end of its useful life. The chair has also earned the EU Ecolabel, reflecting its environmental credentials.
The gently curved seat and folded-paper-inspired backrest give the N02-10 a character that sets it apart from conventional plastic dining chairs. Its clean silhouette suits Scandinavian-inspired interiors, contemporary kitchens and collaborative workspaces. A choice of colours inspired by Scandinavian nature allows you to coordinate the chair with your interior scheme. The powder-coated steel legs are finished to match the shell, creating a cohesive appearance from seat to base.
The N02-10 is designed to adapt easily to different environments. Use it around a dining table, in a home office or as flexible seating in meeting rooms and hospitality settings. Its stackable construction allows up to ten chairs to be stacked, making storage more efficient when additional seating is not required. The durable plastic shell is also straightforward to maintain, making it a practical option for frequently used spaces.
Materials: The N02™ Recycle shell is made from recycled house hold waste. Powder coated steel legs in matching colour to shell. Stackable 10 chairs. The N02™ Recycle chair has earned the prestigious EU-Ecolabel.
