The Fritz Hansen MC350 Planner Rectangular Coffee Table is a refined expression of mid-century modern design, combining the natural character of marble with the clean, architectural lines of a black steel frame.
Designed by Paul McCobb, this iconic piece brings timeless elegance and understated sophistication to contemporary living spaces.
Part of the celebrated Fritz Hansen Planner Table Series, the MC350 is defined by its generous rectangular proportions, sculptural simplicity and carefully considered materials. The marble tabletop is available in a choice of cream or charcoal, complemented by a slender black powder-coated steel base that creates a striking balance between natural texture and industrial precision. Measuring 130 × 70 cm with a height of 40 cm, the Planner MC350 offers a generous surface for displaying books, decorative objects and everyday essentials. Its elongated silhouette makes it particularly well suited to larger living rooms, positioned in front of a sofa or at the centre of a thoughtfully designed seating arrangement.
Choose cream marble for a warm, understated aesthetic or charcoal marble for a more dramatic contemporary statement. Each natural marble tabletop features its own distinctive veining, colour variations and mineral details, ensuring that every table has an individual character. Paul McCobb’s considered approach to proportion, simplicity and functionality remains evident throughout the design. The combination of a substantial marble surface and a lightweight-looking steel frame creates a coffee table that feels visually balanced without compromising on presence.
Whether complementing a minimalist interior, a contemporary apartment or a carefully curated mid-century modern home, the Fritz Hansen MC350 Planner Rectangular Coffee Table offers enduring style and versatile functionality. Paul McCobb was born in 1917. He moved from Boston to New York to pursue his dream of becoming a designer. When it came to design he was completely self-taught but his profound understanding of perspective paved the way for his emerging career as one of the most important designers of the time. Perspective and scale in particular became a trademark for McCobb, whose tables, shelves and even lamps were the result of meticulous attention to the room the design would inhabit.
