With Caravaggio Cecilie Manz wanted to create a simple and soft design which lent itself to both small and large pendant fittings. With Caravaggio the curves passed through a number of shapes during the design process but the final version captures a soft and feminine form.
The light assembly consists of curved steel rods and two pieces of turned brass coated in matt chrome. The depth of the shade prevents glare, no matter how high the pendant is hung. It also features an opening at the top which casts light upwards and illuminates both the suspension and the cord. The beautiful curved shade opens the light gently outwards for working or dining. This version is coated with glossy finish.
With two artist parents, Cecilie Manz encountered the world of design in early childhood in their workshop. Her own career began in 1992 with an academic education from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Following a semester abroad at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Manz started her own company, which has been the focus of her work ever since.
