The Carl Hansen VLA77 Foyer Sofa stands as a testament to the skilled and talented craftspeople at Carl Hansen & Son.
Working to Vilhelm Lauritzen’s original design from 1945 this sofa is expertly crafted, the armrests and legs are constructed from three parts, expertly hand-polished to avoid the appearance of transitions between the different parts. The Foyer series was originally designed for the Radiohuset (Radio House - former headquarters of national Danish broadcaster DR) which is a shining example of Lauritzen’s Functionalism ethics and design philosophy. Every element of the building from the smallest detail to the furniture and facade work harmoniously to create a cohesive, appealing design. The Foyer Sofa combines sumptuous soft leather, meticulously stitched with hand-made buttons with a beautiful solid oiled oak frame.
Material: Solid oiled oak frame, with foam-filled seat upholstered in Carl Hansen & Son Sif leather - an aniline leather made from the highest quality rawhide which is characterised by its exclusive and soft surface as well as excellent seating comfort. *** Many other fabrics and leathers available, please contact us for more details ***
