The Seal Lounge chair is arguably one of Ib Kofod-Larsen's best-known designs, its elegant design typical of its time – and yet entirely timeless and modern.
Ib Kofod-Larsen was a Danish architect and furniture designer who began his design career after gaining an architecture degree from the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. In 1948, he opened his own design studio and along with many other design icons such as Hans J. Wegner, Kaare Klint, Børge Mogensen and Finn Juhl became an important representative of Danish Modernism. He had lots of international success in the 1950's and became one of the most successful and best-selling designers in Europe and America.
