The Audo Copenhagen Penguin Dining Chair - fully upholstered is a rare Danish Modern icon designed by Danish furniture designer Ib Kofod-Larsen in 1953.

  • Materials:  Powder coated steel frame, curved plywood, oiled oak or walnut veneer. The upholstered seat is produced by gluing foam onto the bended plywood shell upon which the textile or leather is mounted. Available in fabrics - Kvadrat Re-Wool (45% new wool worsted, 45% recycled wool, 10% nylon) / Kvadrat Hallingdal (70% New wool, 30% Viscose) or Nevotex Dakar Aniline Leather

Ib Kofod-Larsen was a Danish architect and furniture designer who began his design career after gaining an architecture degree from the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. In 1948, he opened his own design studio and along with many other design icons such as Hans J. Wegner, Kaare Klint, Børge Mogensen and Finn Juhl became an important representative of Danish Modernism. He had lots of international success in the 1950's and became one of the most successful and best-selling designers in Europe and America.
