Audo Copenhagen Elizabeth Lounge Chair

The Elizabeth Lounge Chair by Audo Copenhagen is a beautifully well-proportioned design that has a majestic elegance that underpins its royal name. Originally called the Model U56, it was later dubbed Elizabeth Chair after Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip purchased two of them during an official visit to Denmark in 1958.

Ib Kofod-Larsen was a Danish architect and furniture designer who began his design career after gaining an architecture degree from the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. In 1948, he opened his own design studio and along with many other design icons such as Hans J. Wegner, Kaare Klint, Børge Mogensen and Finn Juhl became an important representative of Danish Modernism. He had lots of international success in the 1950's and became one of the most successful and best-selling designers in Europe and America.
