The Hay Boa Table was originally inspired by the traditional skills of Japanese bamboo craftmanship. Stefan Diez has translated an organic idea into a contemporary take on the conference table typology.
With optimal environmental consideration in mind, the tubular frame is made entirely from Hydro CIRCAL aluminium, a recycled aluminium made from a minimum of 75% recycled post-consumer scrap, which is extruded in Denmark using renewable energy. Using an innovative folding technique, the aluminium is converted into flexible industrial aluminium profiles that are bent into place during assembly. This unique process combined with the lightness of aluminium provides a level of agility rarely present in a table of this scale, enabling its flat-packed design to be easily assembled and moved around, the frame can be lifted quite easily above the head. Many different tabletops are available in numerous material options, including linoleum, laminate, wood or glass, allowing users to adapt the table to specific style and space requirements. Available in many colours and sizes, the frames can be supplemented with power supply and cable storage accessories to amplify their flexibility and usage possibilities for a wide range of professional environments.
Material: Plywood Tabletop: 25 mm with laminate, linoleum or veneer finish with a bevelled edge or 10 mm tempered glass tabletop mounted with glass bumpers. 100mm diameter recycled aluminium tube beam and 91.5mm dia aluminium tube legs. Adjustable gliders in recycled nylon. The frame is a knock-down construction that requires assembly. Legs are assembled to the frame with screws. Tabletop comes with threaded inserts, and is assembled to the frame with screws. The tables come with height adjustable gliders to handle any uneven floors.

Stefan Diez is a German designer and studio owner, who studied Industrial Design at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart. He owns a design studio, and develops furniture, tableware, bags, accessories, and exhibition designs. Diez takes a future facing approach to design, advocating the notion that design should be about creating durable quality products for generations to come.
