Knoll Platner Side Table

In the 1960s, Warren Platner transformed steel wire into a sculptural furniture collection, creating what is now considered a design icon of the modern era. Vertical steel wire rods welded to circular horizontal and edge-framing rods create a unique appearance.


  • Materials: Frame features vertical steel wire rods welded to circular horizontal and edge-framing rod. Nickel finish with clear lacquer protection or painted bronze metallic or plated 18k Gold. Base features a clear plastic extrusion ring that creates a smooth bottom surface. Clear or Bronze glass top. Marble in various different colours.

                          Warren Platner was an American architect and interior designer who produced a furniture collection that has proved to be a continuing icon of 1960s modernism. He studied at Cornell University, graduating in 1941 with a degree in architecture. He went on to work with legendary architects Raymond Loewy, Eero Saarinen, and I. M. Pei before opening his own architecture practice. His furniture designs for Knoll are truly unique and very collectable.
