Mogensen first designed the system in 1958, drawing on his straightforward, functional approach to furniture. The combination of tubular steel and veneered wooden shelves and cupboard doors gives the design a distinctive contrast of materials. Open compartments keep favourite objects in view, while closed storage provides a place for belongings you would rather keep neatly tucked away.
