First designed in 1938, Little Petra is one of Viggo Boesen’s few surviving designs and a distinctive expression of the softer, organic side of Danish ‘funkis style’. The VB2 retains the chair’s characteristic embracing form, creating a sofa that feels generous and cosy without dominating the room. This version is upholstered in Karakorum 003, a soft and substantial bouclé wool and viscose fabric inspired by the appearance of precious astrakhan fur.
The tactile upholstery is complemented by walnut or white-oiled oak legs, adding warmth and natural character. With its combination of exceptional comfort, compact proportions and iconic Danish design, the Little Petra VB2 makes a beautiful choice for a more intimate living space.

Viggo Boesen is a relatively little known architect who contributed to Denmark’s signature design aesthetic in the 1930s. In particular, his work reflected Scandinavian ‘Funkis’ style, a Nordic take on Art Deco. In contrast to mass-produced materials and the less-is-more approach from the Bauhaus school of thought, Boesen brought a soft, warm and almost naive aspect to design, ushering in new forms of upholstered furniture. Only a few of his designs were ever produced, yet Boesen’s original ideas, organic shapes and expressive design lingo were precursors to Denmark’s subsequent stance on modernism in the decades that followed.
