Knoll Barcelona Armchair & Stool


The Knoll Barcelona chair and stool is a true icon of Modernist furniture design. Designed by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe in 1929 for the German Pavilion at the Exposicion Internacional de Barcelona, the Barcelona Chair was actually used as a throne for King Alfonso XIII at the exhibition's opening ceremony.

Along with Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier, Walter Gropius and Frank Lloyd Wright, he is regarded as one of the pioneers of Modernist Architecture & Design. His Barcelona chair is one of modern design's true classics, often imitated but never bettered.
