Originally created for Danish lighting manufacturer Fog & Mørup, this celebrated design remains a timeless expression of Scandinavian modernism, balancing elegant proportions with a warm, beautifully controlled quality of light.
The Orient’s gently curved shade is hand-spun in a wooden mould, preserving the organic shape that gives the design its distinctive character. A carefully considered combination of metal and natural wood creates a refined contrast of materials, with options including polished copper paired with rosewood, brushed aluminium with oak, and matt black lacquered aluminium with rosewood. At the top of the shade, 24 narrow vertical slots allow subtle rays of light to escape, creating a delicate decorative effect while the main light is directed downwards. The fitting conceals the light source, helping to produce a soft, comfortable illumination with minimal glare. The result is a pendant that provides practical task lighting while bringing warmth and atmosphere to the surrounding space.
Available in three sizes, the Orient offers flexibility across a variety of interiors. The smaller P1 is ideal for intimate spaces or for hanging in multiples, while the P2 works beautifully above dining tables and kitchen islands. The larger P3 creates a striking focal point in more generous spaces, where its sculptural silhouette can be fully appreciated.
