This year we’re sharing what we’re expecting from the year ahead, what we’re doing as climate conscious business owners and how we can find more joy and inspiration, something we all need after a heavy couple of years.

Serious about sustainability

The reason that Matt and I opened our store was because we share such a big love of great, timeless design and a modern aesthetic. But there was more behind it. We felt strongly that investing in great design, that’s made to last, was the only answer as the world became more and more obsessed with fast and cheap.

But we know we need to do more. We’re looking at how, as business owners, we can be even more responsible, through partnering with Ecologi to plant trees and support climate projects - and especially rewilding projects on UK soil - something that’s important to us as a family.

We’re asking our suppliers to be more sustainable, and we’re careful about making sure we believe in the products we buy for you, because it matters to you too. We need more models of consumption. We’re committed to this need and playing our small part as we champion the stories and narratives that do bring hope for the future.

We want to inspire you

We have a studio in Harrogate that’s open by appointment at the moment, so our customers feel safe and we can give them the best possible experience. We’ve been considering how we can open this up to our wider online audience and over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing more from our studio and how we curate spaces.

We know we’re all spending more time at home and need flexible solutions to this and so we commit fully to helping you feel better organised and get as much joy as possible out of your homes. We will be opening up personal shopping services - online - where you can book an appointment and discuss what you want from your spaces and homes.  Celebrating iconic design

Staying on the theme of finding more joy, we’re going to celebrate the people and places who bring us so much joy, from the 30s until now. We’re not sure when we’ll be able to travel but we can certainly take a virtual design tour around some of the places where great, modern design lives. Italy, Scandinavia, the US. We’ll uncover the stories behind the stories and hope you’ll join us.
