The Super-Elliptical Table takes inspiration from the Sergels Torg roundabout in Stockholm designed by Piet Hein. As Piet wasn't a furniture designer he teamed up with Arne Jacobsen & Bruno Mathsson to come up with this iconic table.
Part of Fritz Hansen's Table Series, the Super-Elliptical presents an elegant oblong shape. Beautifully harmonious, the precise curves of the table sit perfectly within an array of styled spaces, no matter the size or colour of the surface you choose. A democratic design that gives everyone at the table an equal position, the Super-Elliptical table is great for entertaining and encouraging the art of conversation.

Piet Hein was neither an architect nor a furniture designer - but a philosopher, poet and mathematician. He created the Superellipse as a new oval shape for the Sergel's Square in Stockholm. In cooperation with the Swedish designers, Bruno Mathsson and Arne Jacobsen, he later used the shape for the Super Ellipse Table Series which Fritz Hansen put in production in 1968.
