Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl, the NORR11 Elephant Chair in Vintage Leather, is a modern interpretation of Scandinavian minimalism combined with Japanese aesthetics. The stunning result is a light and elegant lounge chair where the Elephant ear shaped back gently curves around the body providing superior comfort.
The chair is handcrafted with a solid oak wood frame, whilst the seat and back are made from the highest quality compression moulded oak veneer shells. The two shells are pressed in the same press mould and surround the body in a light soft curve. The legs are designed as one single profile without any visible joints, enriching the experience of the material strength and exchange between the light and heavy dimensions. Upholstered in a beautiful aged vintage leather, the Elephant chair adds a luxurious addition to any environment offering years of comfort and style. The Elephant Chair also comes in beautiful sheepskin and wool.
Materials: Solid Oak frame, seat and back of laminated Oak veneer. Upholstered in Dunes leather. Dunes is a really soft leather that uses a special process involving sanding, buffing and applying a special type of leather oil to the surface gives it that almost velvety touch. At the same time, Dunes boasts a matt look that’s raw with a touch of understated elegance. Part of Dunes’ extra appeal are the subtle, natural markings which bring a unique personality to each hide. The leather boasts a patina that will appear over time as a result of the leather’s exposure to daylight, interior lighting and usage. In fact, the more you use Dunes, the more the leather becomes shinier and smoother.
